## **What is Airflo Ventilated Foam?**

Airflo Ventilated foam is a combination of a lightweight, open-cell polyurethane and a closed-cell polyethylene (PE) foam. The base layer is a polyethylene foam, which provides strength and stability during installation. The profiled open-cell polyurethane layer allows the foam to breathe by permitting moisture and airflow to pass through its open-cell structure. This enables ventilation into the roofing system while maintaining a secure seal.

## **How It Works**

Ventilated foam is designed to seal roof gaps while still allowing airflow. The closed-cell PE base creates a firm, supportive structure that fits securely into roof profiles, while the open-cell polyurethane section allows air and moisture vapour to move through the foam. This helps ventilate the roof cavity, reducing condensation build-up and improving overall roof performance.

## **Key Benefits**

- **Promotes roof ventilation:** Allows airflow into the roofing system to help regulate temperature and reduce condensation.
- **Manages moisture:** Enables moisture vapour to escape, reducing the risk of mould, timber decay, and corrosion.
- **Strong and stable:** The closed-cell PE base provides durability and structural support during installation.
- **Protects against the elements:** Helps prevent wind-driven rain, debris, insects, and pests from entering the roof space.
- **Easy to install:** Lightweight and flexible, making it simple to fit on site.

## **Typical Uses**

Ventilated foam is commonly used in roofing applications where ventilation and weather protection are both required, including:

- Roof eaves
- Roof ridges
- Roofing junctions and cavities
- Residential and commercial metal roofing systems

It is suitable for projects where condensation control, airflow, and protection from external elements are important.

## Installation

- Ventilated foam is quick and easy to install:
- Ensure the installation surface is clean, dry, and free from debris.
- Measure and cut the ventilated foam to the required length.
- Position the foam into the roof profile at the eaves or ridge.
- Secure in place as required before installing the roofing material.
